FAB SUBTITLER
Save up to 70% of time for preparation of subtitles with cloud-based transcription including timecode in 100+ languages
Video/Audio Files
FAB Subtitler Recognized text with timecode,
optionally speaker & scene change detection
Transcription Cloud Service
Subtitle Files
FAB Subtitler PRO/LIVE/MPEG now supports the use of several cloud-based speaker independent speech recognition engines (Microsoft, Google, Speechmatics, Zoom-Media, Trint). FAB Subtitler transfers video files (only audio can also be transferred) to the cloud and receives back the recognized text with timecode.
– Automatic conversion of transcript of spoken audio with timecode to subtitles. – Optional automatic assignment of colours to recognized speakers. – Google supports over 60 languages and other cloud services support several languages as well.
The quality of the recognized text is not perfect and it requires some manual corrections in FAB Subtitler. Subtitle preparation may require up to 70% less time because timecodes are generally already correct.
Details are available here: https://www.fab-online.com/kb/sup/fabsubtitler/transcription.html
Cloud based live transcription functionality for live subtitling in 100+ languages
FAB Subtitler LIVE/MPEG supports cloud live transcription services (Google Cloud Speech Recognition, Microsoft Azure Cognitive Services and Zoom-Media) for live subtitling. FAB Subtitler sends live audio received from microphone, SDI input of a Decklink card or video/audio received over TS/IP in real time to the cloud live transcription service and receives back the recognized text. This text can be transmitted automatically or it can be corrected manually before it is transmitted using the speech interface integrated in FAB Subtitler.
Decklink card for live video display, timecode reading and insertion of open subtitles into SDI video
A new Decklink API was implemented in FAB Subtitler PRO/LIVE/MPEG which allows using any Decklink card for the following functionality:
– Display of live video on PC monitor or on the secondary PC monitor – Reading of timecode from SDI input of the Decklink card – Insertion of open subtitles into SDI which is only supported by some Decklink cards
The card Decklink 4K Extreme 12G supports all above functionality up to 2160p60.
Insertion of open subtitles into MP4/MOV/TS files
FAB Subtitler MPEG supports insertion of open subtitles directly into MP4/MOV/TS files which use the MPEG1/MPEG2/H.264 video codec.
Visit www.fab-online.com for more information
FAB SUBTITLER
Conversion of any type of video file to lowres MP4 video file for subtitling
FAB Subtitler STD/PRO/LIVE/MPEG includes a new function which allows converting almost any type of video file to a low resolution MP4 video file optimized for fast navigation and which also includes scene changes detected during the conversion as metadata.
Scene change detection for video files
FAB Subtitler STD/PRO/LIVE/MPEG includes a new function which allows detecting scene changes in a MP4/MOV file and displaying detected scene changes in FAB Subtitler during preparation of subtitles.
Improved functionality for live subtitling when multiple workstations are working on the same file
When multiple FAB Subtitler LIVE workstations are working on the same subtitle file every workstation displays in purple colour subtitles currently edited by other workstations and in green colour the subtitle currently transmitted by another workstation.
FAB DVB INTERFACE

FAB SUBTITLE DATABASE
Import and export for automatic workflow including export of only modified records
The following import and export functionality is available:
o Import of playlist for synchronization with the TV planning/scheduling/traffic system o Export of subtitle files to FAB Subtitle BCAST/XCD for transmission of subtitles o Export of subtitle files to internet video on demand library o Batch export of modified subtitle files and records only
FAB Subtitle Database supports watchfolder based import of playlist files. By using unique IDs the playlist for the same date can be imported many times and therefore the database will always contain a mirror of the TV schedule for all subtitled programs.
The workflow used with FAB Subtitle Database makes sure that subtitle files for all subtitled programs are always present in the database because otherwise subtitle files will not be transmitted.
A new periodic subtitle file export functionality is available which allows exporting subtitle files using the content of a specified database field (generally a program ID) in the subtitle filename. These subtitle files can be used for the internet video on demand library.
